Positive change through clothing

Auguste is committed to creating clothing that is ethical and environmentally friendly. With sustainability at its core.

In 2018 the brand launched a range of eco-swimwear made using Econyl (recycled nylon). Made entirely of ocean landfill waste such as ocean plastics and fishing lines. This comes as no surprise as the brand was born by the ocean, in Byron Bay. 

Auguste also uses a blend of organic cotton and hemp to make their slogan tee’s. As a renewable resource, and requiring very little water in comparison to other fibres such as conventional cotton used mostly in the fashion industry, hemp is an amazing choice. Mixed with organic cotton, which eliminates the dependence on highly toxic pesticides, hemp and organic cotton blend tee’s are the perfect sustainable alternative.

As a proud member of 1% for the planet, a global movement of businesses committed to investing in a healthier future for our planet, Auguste gives regularly to charities that reflect their ethos such as The Australian Marine Conservation Society and the Orangutan Land Trust.

• One Tree Planted, a non-profit organisation with a mission to help global reforestation.

• National Centre Against Bullying, where they collaborated on their HERO tees to raise funds against bullying.
• UN Women National Committee Australia committed to promoting women’s empowerment and gender equality.
• Fifty wild koala adoptions at the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital.
